31 January 2025	Procedural Sedation and Analgesia – Cork 1 place left	Classroom	This is a blended learning educational session for any doctors involved in providing procedural sedation. 11 February 2025	Fracture Fixation 2 places left	Classroom	This bone fracture fixation course will start with classification systems and decision making on the type of fixation of fractures in different scenarios. The practical sessions will range from the application of simple screws and plates to complex fixation of fractures using k-wires, tension band wiring, intramedullary nailing. We will discuss the principles of application of an external fixator. The bone models will be synthetic sawbones and animal legs with fractures for both the upper and lower limb.	7.5	Register here

February – March 2025	RCSI Certificate in Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice Certificate 6 places left	Interactive Learning	This three-day online course will support the development of a professional identity as a clinical educator to enable candidates to improve their teaching and assessing skills in the clinical and classroom environments. A combination of education theory, lesson planning, interactive peer group exercises, micro-teaching skills practice and reflection will be used to develop the skills of lesson planning, effective teaching, assessment and giving peer feedback.	18	Register here
12 February 2025	Major Trauma 6 places left	Classroom	This practical course allows participants to enhance their skills in the initial management of the severely injured trauma patient. The course includes an update on American College of Surgeons Trauma Committee guidelines for Major Trauma Management. A variety of skills stations cover essential procedures in major trauma. 14 February 2025	Suturing Skills & Wound Closure 8 places left	Classroom	This course will help you master your knot-tying and suturing skills from first principles. 18 February 2025	Head and Neck Trauma Management 8 places left	Classroom	This is a multidisciplinary course facilitated by experienced consultants in ENT, MAX fax, and neurosurgery. Participants will learn how to manage the airway in challenging difficult airway scenarios. Options and priorities will be discussed in the management of combined head and neck trauma. Participants will also practice skills such as emergency cricothyroidotomy, placement of burr holes, and closure of facial lacerations on simulated models.	7.5	Register here

21 February 2025	Mental Health Emergencies 8 places left	Classroom	This course introduces a structured approach to acute psychiatric emergencies for patients presenting to hospital in an acute crisis. If a course is FULL – it is recommended to apply for the waiting list. Often doctors withdraw from courses closer to the date.

If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
