The RCSI PCS team strive to advance and support the professional development of the members of our Surgical and Emergency Medicine community. As we approach the end of the Professional Competence Scheme year 2024 – 2025, there are some important updates and deadlines to consider:
The following are key points we would like to bring your attention to :
Update Your PCS ePortfolio:
- Ensure your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities for the year 1st May 2024 – 30th April 2025 are uploaded by 30th April 2025. Click HERE to update your CPD activities.
PCS Requirements for 2024/2025:
- Record a minimum of 40 CPD credits across ANY category (external, internal, personal, research/teaching). There are no specific targets for each category this year.
- Complete one clinical/practice audit.
New PCS Requirements commencing May 1st 2025
You will now be aware following the Medical Council’s announcement that there will be new PCS requirements for the PCS year commencing May 1st 2025. To incorporate these new PCS requirements, we will deploy a new IT system solution and further information on this new system will be made available in advance of May 1st, 2025. We hope that you will seamlessly transition to the new PCS System.
PLEASE NOTE
Access to the current PCS ePortfolio will close on 30th April 2025 as we deploy the new PCS system. You will however have access to all your records and Statement of Participation for previous years on the NEW PCS system and a date will be announced (end June/July) when they are available.
