Casting for the lower limb
|
This course will concentrate on knowledge in relation to correct cast application and removal for the lower limb, caring for the casted limb and preventing associated complications. Correct selection of casts for specific fractures and ligament injuries will be demonstrated and performed.

This programme covers instruction in technical skills using a combination of synthetic bench models, animal cadaver tissue and various technical simulators. Topics covered include: haemorrhoidectomy; open / closed / stapled, lipoma / sebaceous cysts, advanced laparoscopic skills; intracorporeal knotting / suturing.
