Prof Tanja Manser Talk title: Where is the Patient Perspective in Human Factors
Professor Tanja Manser is Director of the FHNW School of Applied Psychology, Olten, Switzerland and holds a position as Foreign Adjunct Professor at CLINTEC, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. She is an expert on team performance in healthcare and its relationship to patient safety and clinician well-being. Her research focuses on teamwork in acute care settings, quality and safety of patient hand-offs, simulation-based training, clinical risk management, safety climate in healthcare and implementation of patient safety practices.
She has published widely in the field of human factors and health care research and has served on the editorial board of "Simulation in Health Care" and as a senior editor of “Advances in Simulation” for many years. She is currently an editorial board member for Ergonomics and for BMJ Open.
Tanja received a PhD in Psychology form University of Zurich in 2002 and in 2008 she completed her Habilitation at ETH Zurich. From 2014-2017 she was Full Professor for Patient Safety and Director of the Institute for Patient Safety at the University Hospital Bonn, Germany. From 2016-2018 she was affiliated as Adjunct Professor for Patient Safety to the Centre for Resilience in Healthcare (SHARE), Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Stavanger, Norway. In 2015 she received the German Health Services Research Award.
