Dear colleague,

I hope this email finds you safe and well in these difficult times.

I am checking in as you recently enquired about RCSI’s Leadership programmes. Do you need any assistance or further information - I would be happy to help!

If you are interested in a specific programme and would like a quick call to get more information please complete this form and we will organise that for you. If you would like to discuss your leadership development more generally, please let me know and we can arrange a free consultation with one of our professional development coaches.

You can read and download here a copy of the full brochure which may be of some assistance to you.

In the meantime, I thought it might be useful to provide you with some FAQs on our programmes:

Q1. Are RCSI’s programmes accredited?

Yes, our programmes are accredited by the National University of Ireland (NUI). Our academic programmes are Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Q2. What are the programme entry requirements?

Applicants for our MSc programmes must hold a primary degree at level 8 on the NFQ. Applicants should also be working in the Healthcare sector as all our programmes are practice-based. For Nursing specific programmes applicants must be active on the NMBI register.

Q3. What if I don’t have a level 8 qualification?

Don’t worry, you may still be eligible to join the programme. There are opportunities to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL), whereby your work experience is taken into consideration, or there are pathway programmes. Please contact the number for enquires for the specific programme you are interested in for more information about RPL or the pathway programme.

Q4. How are the MSc programmes delivered?

In response to the uncertainty surrounding COVID 19, potential travel restrictions and the importance of social distancing for healthcare professionals for the foreseeable future, we are pleased to confirm that our blended learning model will be facilitated in a digitally engaged format via our online teaching platform for Academic Year 20/21. Our academic programmes will be delivered through a blend of online content and activities and live interactive sessions, to offer a collaborative and supported student experience. Students will have the opportunity to become part of an international, healthcare focused, learning community, as they are supported to engage through collaborative group work, team building and networking opportunities – benefiting from each other’s experience in a safe and supported environment. Onsite days will be scheduled when it is safe to do so in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic. We are finalising timetables for webinars and live interactive sessions now and will make this available to you shortly.

Q5. What if I am not a regular user of computers or technology?

We are here to help! Our experienced team have the skills and technology to provide a rich and engaging online experience and will be on hand to support and guide you, no matter what your level of technical ability. There will be lots of time and opportunities to become familiar with the technology before any academic content is covered, so you can feel totally comfortable with the platforms before you have to start your studies. Our team will be available during the programme too and at all live webinars so you will have someone to go to if you are ever having technical difficulties.

I hope this is helpful. You may have other questions – please do not hesitate to let us know if you would like us to give you a call to talk through. Complete this form and we will arrange this for you.

In the meantime, take care.

Best wishes,

Renee Vella
