The Basic Surgical Principals and Practice Certificate was introduced in 2023 and was designed specifically for those not on formal surgical training programmes. Consultant led teaching sessions focus on the Intercollegiate Core Surgical Curriculum and the MRCS examination syllabus. The Basic Surgical Principles and Practice Certificate is a one-year programme delivered between September 2024 and June 2025. To be eligible you must be registered on Continuous Professional Development Support Scheme (CPD-SS), work within the Public Health Service and work as a Surgical SHO.
