Social media brings a new dimension to medicine with applications in medical education, patient education, health services research, clinical trials, and public health campaigns as well as fostering collegiality, professional development, and enhancing institutional branding and promotion. This course for anyone who would like to explore the opportunities and challenges of using social media in healthcare, including as a mass communication tool during infectious disease epidemics.
This training session aims to empowers the RCSI community to challenge poor behaviours which have become normalised and bring change through the reinforcement of messages defining the boundaries of unacceptable behaviour.
The training session aims to introduce participants to the concepts of positive emotions, optimism, meaning and purpose and growth mind-set in a professional and personal environment. It will also introduce the concept of burnout in the medical profession and mechanisms to avoid burnout
This breast course will concentrate on performing a good oncoplastic mastectomy and axillary clearance. Breast reconstruction including implant, pedicled and free flap options will be explored.
This course will aid you in developing your curriculum vitae so that your previous experience and attributes will stand out. The course also explore the optimum ways you can win over the interview panel at that all-important interview. Part A concentrates on Curriculum Development, Part B concentrates on interview skills.
If a course is FULL – it is recommended applying for the waiting list. Often doctors withdrawn from courses closer to the date.
If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
