11 March 2025	Advanced Upper GI Emergency Management 1 place left	Classroom	This interactive workshop will discuss the management of the unstable patient for both variceal and non-variceal bleeds. 11 March 2025	MS Excel – Data Management and Analysis for Doctors 2 places left	Classroom	This course has been developed as a follow-on course to the Excel – An Introduction course, with a specific focus on introducing you to the features of the application that are used to build, manage and analyse lists of data (records).	6	Register here

26 March 2025	ENT Skills for General Surgeons 6 places left	Classroom	This course has been designed and will be facilitated by experienced ENT consultants for general surgeons. 2 April 2025	Train the Trainer 1 place left	Classroom	This course focuses on feedback skills to allow you to improve your teaching and training in both the clinical and simulation environments. A combination of theory, interactive exercises and high-fidelity simulation will be used to demonstrate the skills of giving effective feedback to learners.	6	Register here
3 April 2025	Basic Endoscopy Skills  6 places left	Classroom	This endoscopy workshop will introduce endoscopic techniques, sedation, bowel preparation and diagnostic recognition of pathology. The practical session will use both virtual reality endoscopic simulators and bench task trainers to practice doing gastroscopy and colonoscopy, on modules with different pathologies.	7.5	Register here
3 April 2025	Resuscitation Simulation 2 places left	Classroom	Medical and Trauma Adult resuscitation scenarios in a simulated setting. Participants will be able to understand and apply a systematic approach to the critically unwell patient in the resuscitation room. 4 April 2025	Geriatric Emergency Medicine Day 8 places left	Classroom	The course introduces participants to the key concepts involved in delivering high quality emergency care for the older adult, and is based on the concepts outlined in the British Geriatric Society’s ‘Silver Book II’. Topics covered include Assessment of Frailty, Delirium, Managing complexity and multiple comorbidities, an approach to simple functional assessment in an ED, recognizing changes in physiology and pharmacology with older age, management of falls, as well as getting care right at the end of life.	7.5	Register here
7 April 2025	Flourishing in the Workplace 10 places left	Interactive Learning	The training session aims to introduce participants to the concepts of positive emotions, optimism, meaning and purpose and growth mind-set in a professional and personal environment. It will introduce the concept of burnout in the medical profession and mechanisms to avoid burnout. 9 April 2025	Suturing Skills and Wound Closure   6 places left	Classroom	This course will help you master your knot-tying and suturing skills from first principles. Experienced consultant surgeons will give you formative feedback on your instrument handling, tissue manipulation, and wound closure.	7.5	Register here

11 April 2025	Fracture Fixation 5 places left	Classroom	This bone fracture fixation course will start with classification systems and decision making on the type of fixation of fractures in different scenarios. The practical sessions will range from the application of simple screws and plates to complex fixation of fractures using k-wires, tension band wiring, intramedullary nailing. We will discuss the principles of application of an external fixator. The bone models will be synthetic sawbones and animal legs with fractures for both the upper and lower limb.	7.5	Register here
14 April 2025	Casting Workshop 2 places left	Classroom	This course will concentrate on knowledge in relation to correct cast application and removal for the upper and lower limb, caring for the limb in a cast and preventing associated complications. Correct selection of casts for specific fractures and ligament injuries will be demonstrated and performed.	7.5	Register here

If a course is FULL – it is recommended to apply for the waiting list. Often doctors withdraw from courses closer to the date.

If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
