This is a gastrointestinal skills course that concentrates on the operative management of open inguinal hernias, bowel anastomosis and bowel diversion surgery.

Please be aware that the Training Support Scheme, managed by HSE, has increased the funding for non-consultant health doctors working full-time by €500 increasing from €1,250 to €1,750
The Millin Meeting 2023 will take place in RCSI on Friday, 10 November. This one-day event will focus on topics such as surgical research and surgical training, as well as hosting the 46th annual Millin Lecture, which recognises excellence in original surgical research.
Simulation-based education often serves as a gateway to clinical practice by providing learners with key opportunities to gain new competencies without risk to patients. Challenges remain in promoting the transfer of learning from simulation to workplace contexts.
The RCSI-GSM is hosting the HSE 2nd National Clinical Directors Conference on 1st November in Croke Park. The Conference is open to all clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals – medical, nursing and midwifery, health and social care professionals and managers and administrators.
