6 October 2023	Procedural Sedation and Analgesia - CORK 3 places left	Classroom	This is a blended learning educational session for any doctors involved in providing procedural sedation. A 3 hour pre-course on line module prior to attending the course. The course will provide participants with the ability to provide safe and effective sedation to patients in the ED.	8	Register here
10October 2023	Advanced Upper GI Emergency Management 5 places left	Classroom	This interactive workshop will discuss the management of the unstable patient for both variceal and non-variceal bleeds. The course will concentrate on the management of a bleeding and perforated duodenal ulcer with both open and laparoscopic approaches.	7.5	Register here
13October 2023	Basic Laparoscopy Skills 7 places left	Classroom	This is a hands-on course where you will get expert formative feedback while practicing laparoscope handling, object positioning and tissue manipulation. You will then progress to performing a cholecystectomy on a simulated animal model.	7.5	Register here
31 October 2023	Intermediate General Surgery 7 places left	Classroom	This programme covers instruction in technical skills to perform fashioning a stoma (ileostomy / colostomy), performing a bowel anastomosis and performing an open inguinal hernia management. This practical course will use both synthetic and animal simulation to aid learning and practicing skills.	7.5	Register here
1 November 2023	Suturing Skills and Wound Closure 8 places left	Classroom	This course will help you master your knot-tying and suturing skills from first principles. Experienced consultant surgeons will give you formative feedback on your instrument handling, tissue manipulation, and wound closure.	7.5	Register here
6 November 2023	Basic Skills in Urology 1places left	Classroom	This multi-faceted course will address scrotal diseases as well as cystic and ureteric conditions. Both animal models, virtual reality simulators and bench models will allow the participant to repair a hydrocele, do a circumcision, remove stones from the ureter, insert J stents and perform a simulated TURP.	7.5	Register here

21 November 2023	Emergency Toxicology 8 places left	Classroom	Clinical Toxicology an update for the Emergency Physician. Case-based interactive discussion on common and less common poisoning presentations.	7.5	Register here
23 November 2023	How to Conduct Clinical Research 9 places left	Classroom	This course will focus on research methodology. The course will help to develop some of the skills required to plan, conduct, and disseminate individual research projects. Specific topics will include study design, levels of evidence, defining research questions and obtaining ethical approval.	6	Register here
27 November 2023	Casting Workshop 4 places left	Classroom	This course will concentrate on knowledge in relation to correct cast application and removal for the upper and lower limb, caring for the limb in a cast and preventing associated complications. Correct selection of casts for specific fractures and ligament injuries will be demonstrated and performed.	7.5	Register here
29 November 2023	Resuscitation Simulation 8 places left	Classroom	Medical and Trauma Adult resuscitation scenarios in a simulated setting. Participants will be able to understand and apply a systematic approach to the critically unwell patient in the resuscitation room. The day will include simulation scenarios in-group scenarios with effective feedback to enhance learning	7.5	Register here

If a course is FULL – it is recommendedto apply for the waiting list. Often doctors withdraw from courses closer to the date.

If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
