We write to advise you that we still have places available on the following CPD course that will take place in April 2021. Places are very limited, so early registration is advised to avoid disappointment.

If a course is FULL – it is recommended to apply for the waiting list. Often doctors withdraw from courses closer to the date.

If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.

The event focuses on professionalism in education and professionalism in clinical practice, and promises to be a day of exciting talks and presentations from speakers including Professors Richard and Sylvia Creuss, Dr Colm Henry, Prof Samuel McConkey and an international panel from Canada, USA, UK, UAE and Ireland.

With a mix of speakers from across research, policy and healthcare, this is set to be a very interesting event.

Photography competition terms and conditions.

We are organising every Wednesday evening webinars that keeps medical professionals up to date with COVID-19 in different topics.

The Institute of Leadership (IOL) are running a series of webinars incollaboration with The National Clinical Leadership Centre for Nursing and Midwifery (NCLC) and Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD).  

The series will consist of nine pre-recorded webinars that commenced in September 2020 and will continue until February 2021.  The aim of the series is to provide an opportunity for representatives from all nursing disciplines and midwifery services to present and share their clinical leadership experiences, during the pandemic.

This online course aims to support clinicians to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively prepare and participate in clinical handover. The course demonstrates how good communication skills can achieve continuity and safety of patient care during handover. The application of ISBAR3 is examined in a variety of clinical settings using video analysis of everyday handover situations.

Many healthcare staff are now carrying out consultations using video calls. This is often a type of consultation that staff have not encountered prior to COVID-19 and can be an area of anxiety. Building on the previous course on telephone consultations, this course shows you how to apply the core skills of the Calgory-Cambridge Guide to video consultations provides a structured and patient-centered approach.

Doctors that have two courses booked and not attended or not canceled in due time will be excluded from the CPD 2020/2021 Programme. (if eligible can re-enroll in CPD 2021/2022 intake)

The RCSI is committed to developing better supports for doctors not currently on a specialist training programme in Ireland.

In order to make sure that we fully understand how we can successfully achieve this we want to hear from you directly so we can develop a professional support programme that will focus exclusively on your requirements.

This national survey of all surgical NCHDs who are not on a specialist training programme, is pivotal to the success of this initiative, the survey is short and anonymous, it is also not exclusive so please feel free to circulate to your colleagues.
