Quality improvement (QI) and Lean training are now becoming pre-requisite for many healthcare professionals. In this course, you will learn techniques for improving processes and implementing change in your hospital or department and develop abilities that are highly portable across your organisation and internationally.
This course will focus on research methodology. The course will help to develop some of the skills required to plan, conduct, and disseminate individual research projects. Specific topics will include study design, levels of evidence, defining research questions, and obtaining ethical approval.
Advanced Laparoscopy: Common Bile Duct Exploration

This course will concentrate on Laparoscopic common bile duct exploration as an effective treatment for choledocholithiasis. Both transcystic and transcholedochal laparoscopic common bile duct exploration will be practiced in the Simulation.

This three-day certificate introduces human factors in healthcare. Each day has a separate overall theme and begins with an overall introductory lecture, followed by a series of practical and interactive workshops developing on the key theme.
Critical decision-making on a virtual ward round for Surgery

Considerable obstacles to learning exist in the surgical ward environment including the high volumes of patients, untimely surgical emergencies, shift working, and ongoing increases in administrative tasks. This highly interactive course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your critical thinking, escalation, and communication skills.
If a course is FULL – it is recommended applying for the waiting list. Often doctors withdrawn from courses closer to the date.
If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
