29 January 2025	Financial Wellness: Mortgages, Savings and Investments 5 places left	Interactive Learning	This session introduces mortgages and the must-know criteria, reviews the Central Bank of Ireland mortgage regulations, what BOI looks for in an application, what documents are required and a mortgage checklist; the hierarchy of financial needs, inflation and its impact on the cost of living and savings, why you should save and invest, and the golden rules of investing.	1	Register here
30 January 2025	Critical Care for Surgical Patients 2 places left	Classroom	Joint management and collaboration of the ICU intensivist and the surgeon is vital for the post-operative patient. 11 February 2025	Fracture Fixation 1 place left	Classroom	This bone fracture fixation course will start with classification systems and decision making on the type of fixation of fractures in different scenarios. The practical sessions will range from the application of simple screws and plates to complex fixation of fractures using k-wires, tension band wiring, intramedullary nailing. We will discuss the principles of application of an external fixator. The bone models will be synthetic sawbones and animal legs with fractures for both the upper and lower limb.	7.5	Register here

February – March 2025	RCSI Certificate in Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice Certificate 3 places left	Interactive Learning	This three-day online course will support the development of a professional identity as a clinical educator to enable candidates to improve their teaching and assessing skills in the clinical and classroom environments. 18 February 2025	Head and Neck Trauma Management 4 places left	Classroom	This is a multidisciplinary course facilitated by experienced consultants in ENT, MAX fax, and neurosurgery. Participants will learn how to manage the airway in challenging difficult airway scenarios. Options and priorities will be discussed in the management of combined head and neck trauma. Participants will also practice skills such as emergency cricothyroidotomy, placement of burr holes, and closure of facial lacerations on simulated models.	7.5	Register here
20 February 2025	Basic Laparoscopy 5 places left	Classroom	This is a hands-on course where you will  get expert formative feedback while  practicing laparoscope handling, object  positioning and tissue manipulation.  You will then progress to performing a  cholecystectomy on a simulated animal  model.	7.5	Register here

25 February 2025	Marketing4Doctors: A well-rounded guide to promoting your Medical Event 10 places left	Interactive Learning	This online course will focus on providing doctors a well-rounded guide in the marketing and communication of a medical event, conference, or experience. 25 February 2025	Basic Endoscopy Skills 2 places left	Classroom	This endoscopy workshop will introduce endoscopic techniques, sedation, bowel preparation and diagnostic recognition of pathology. 26 February 2025	Cross-Cultural Competence and Effective Communication Workshop 5 places left	Classroom	The day will focus on fostering cultural agility and exploring key competencies within an Irish context, exploring the Irish culture, values, attitudes and behaviours. Participants will refine nuanced communication skills for diverse social and professional settings. An Emotional Intelligence session will empower participants to apply learned principles in practice and social settings. 4 March 2025	Information Session on Applying for Specialist Registration 10 places left	Interactive Learning	This information session is designed to provide guidance on applying for entry to the Irish Medical Council Specialist Division of the Register (SDR). March – April 2025	Accredited Certificate in Simulation-based Training in Human Factors in Patient Safety 2 places left	Classroom	This three-day certificate introduces human factors in healthcare. If a course is FULL – it is recommended to apply for the waiting list. Often doctors withdraw from courses closer to the date.

If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
