As we prepare to step into a new academic year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our doctors. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are delighted to have you as part of our learning community.
This year, we are proud to offer over 150 courses, including face-to-face sessions, interactive online classes, and flexible self-paced learning options. Each course is designed to support your ongoing professional development, and meeting your training needs.
Thank you for your continued dedication to lifelong learning and excellence in patient care. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, Adina Orac (CPD Operations Manager) or any member of the CPD team.
Please see our upcoming CPD courses and meetings, taking place in September to November. Places are limited for all our courses, so early registration is advised to avoid disappointment.
We are consistently striving to expand our selection of self-paced online courses, allowing you to complete them conveniently at your own preferredschedule.
In this course, you will master your knot tying and suturing skills from first principles. Experienced consultant surgeons will give you formative feedback on local anesthetic application, your instrument handling, tissue manipulation, and minor operative techniques.
This one-day course is a high-fidelity simulation programme and is delivered in collaboration with the College of Anaesthesiologists in Ireland and takes place in the National Simulation Centre at RCSI. It is open to surgeons working in Irish hospitals.
Gain essential skills and knowledge to enhance your teaching skills as a clinician – Clinicians as Educators – Effective Teaching Skills (Micro-credential) - Open to doctors including Interns, NCHDs and Surgical Trainees
The RCSI is hosting a webinar, on behalf of the Early Careers Surgical Network, which has been designed for NCHDs who are working in Ireland and who are considering applying for registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council.
One of the highlights of this year’s RCSI Millin Meeting is the attendance of key research support systems available in Ireland as exhibitors at this year’s upcoming event. Engaging with surgical/clinical trial exhibition stands are a great way for Surgical NCHDs, Trainees and Surgeons, to engage with key research stakeholders across Ireland in order to help get the information you need to set up your own trial.
Less than 4 weeks to go until our 5th National Human Factors in Patient Safety Conference. Our Human Factors in Patient Safety Conference is taking place on Friday, 26 September and we have three exciting speakers lined up.
For Surgical Researchers of all stages, our highly popular competition for the RCSI National will be of special interest. We will also have regional updates from the National Surgical Research Support Centre, surgical-research specific keynote lectures and lots of opportunities for networking.
