MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice: For Medical NCHDs

Master (MCh) of Surgery by Module: For Surgical NCHDs 

 

RCSI Surgical Affairs are delighted to announce that we now have a new Academic programme, MSc in Advanced Clinical Practicewhich is designed to support the career development needs of Physician’s in all disciplines which will run alongside our well established taught Master of Surgery Programme. As always, we are committed to delivering excellence in healthcare education to both Surgical and Non-surgical NCHDs.

 

Those on the CPDSS programme can combine CPDSS funding and TSS funding to cover up to €2250 of the cost of this programme, reducing the overall cost for you on either of our programmes. MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (New programme for non-surgical trainees):

This programme presents a unique opportunity in delivering expertise to all physicians who are training in non-surgical specialties. There has been expressed interest already from NCHD’s in, Emergency MedicineGeneral Medicine, General Practice, Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiology, Pathology, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry.

 

The overall aim of the programme is to help junior doctors prepare for the professional challenges that will arise as they train and develop their own practice.

 

The programme can be undertaken before, during or on completion of a structured training programme.

 

Master of Surgery Programme:

Our established Master (MCh) of Surgery by Module programme has now been running for twelve years consecutively. This programme greatly benefits medical graduates planning a surgical career in obtaining a higher degree in surgery.

 

The overall aim of this programme is to give surgeons in training the opportunity to explore areas of professional development that are not specifically addressed in any current higher specialist training programmes.

 

The programme can be undertaken before, during or on completion of a structure surgical training programme.

 

Both programmes can be completed either full-time or part-time.
