Affiliate Membership
Affiliate Membership gives you access to a range of resources designed to help you prepare for MRCS Part A and B examinations and support your overall career progression by becoming part of an international network of over 11,000 surgeons and aspiring surgeons.
The Fellows and Members Office launched our new RCSI Affiliate Member Portal for our Affiliate Members, giving exclusive access to a range of ‘member-only’ exams and career supports which cover your personal, practical, academic and professional development needs. These valuable resources are exclusive to Affiliate Members and include: MRCS Exam Preparation Resources, Surgical Skills and Science, Surgical Anatomy Software and Guides, Library and Study Resources, Online Courses, Career Development and Surgical News.
Professionalism in the 21st Century Medical Practice
The Professionalism in 21st Century Medical Practice course is fully-online and aimed at all registered medical doctors in all specialties. This flexible course has been built to suit the busy schedules of medical doctors and is delivered in a digital format through our online teaching platform.
There are 12 online modules in total (60 CPD credits) covering different aspects of medical professionalism, with each module worth 5 CPD credits. Candidates enrolled on this course can take the modules in any order and at your own pace including Relationships with patients and colleagues, Patient Safety, Teaching and Mentoring and more.
CPD Hub
Last year, our CPD Hub was launched to enhance a streamlined process for NCHD's in booking courses. This is an educational platform dedicated to NCHDs. The benefits of this platform to NCHDs are:
- Allow users to update their personal data
- Book courses, view their status if they are on a waiting list for a course
- Full visibility to all courses booked
- Receive reminders for upcoming courses
- Download certificate of attendance
- Download receipts for courses, if they have not purchased using a voucher
Surgical Logbook
RCSI Surgery launched a new Logbook for NCHD’s registered on the CPD Support Scheme to provide them with access to the same electronic logbook as surgical trainees in core surgical training and higher surgical training. This Logbook allows NCHD’s to upload future and historic procedures that they have carried out in Ireland.
The logbook has been specifically designed by RCSI to support Doctors during their surgical career. This service is free for NCHD’s enrolled on the CPD support scheme and completely voluntary to use.
NCHDs currently enrolled on the 2023/24 CPD Support Scheme do not need to enrol again.
