The RCSI-NSRSC was established to increase surgical trial activity across the island of Ireland. We support surgeons and surgical trainees in conducting surgical research and trials, including supports with navigating the ethics and regulatory pathways and logistics of setting up and management of surgical trials. We also aim to train the next generation of surgical trainees to become the future surgical trialists in Ireland. The PROPEL-2 trial will investigate if a new type of wound dressing called Negative Pressure Wound Therapy is better than the current standard for patients having #surgery on their abdomen.
