This course has been developed as a follow-on course to the Excel – Introduction course, with a specific focus on introducing participants to more advanced functions available in the application.
EASC curriculum focuses on the acute abdomen, in a multidisciplinary shared learning approach. It will enhance your ability on-duty as a surgeon, gastroenterologist or radiologist; either as a trainee or a specialist. This is a blended learning educational session for any doctors involved in providing procedural sedation. A 3 hour pre-course on line module prior to attending the course. The course will provide participants with the ability to provide safe and effective sedation to patients in the Emergency Department.
The BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider Course is for medical, para-medical and allied healthcare professionals. The skills taught include adult and paediatric CPR including two rescuer scenarios, use of bag valve mask and barrier devices, management of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO), and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This training session aims to empowers the RCSI community to challenge poor behaviours which have become normalised and bring change through the reinforcement of messages defining the boundaries of unacceptable behaviour.
This course has been developed as a follow-on course to the MS Word - An Introduction with the objective of bringing participants on to the next level of use of the application through a better understanding of overall document management.
This programme covers instruction in technical skills using a combination of synthetic bench models, animal cadaver tissue and various technical simulators. Topics covered include: Stomas; ileostomy / colostomy, Bowel anastomosis – end-end; hand sewn / side – side; stapled, incisional and open inguinal hernia management.

This workshop supports participants to learn an develop communication skills to deal with challenging patient-clinician communication: responding to strong emotion, delivering bad news, disclosing errors and many other difficult clinical conversations.
If a course is FULL – it is recommended applying for the waiting list. Often doctors withdrawn from courses closer to the date.
If you would like to book and attend more than your FREE 3 full-day courses allowance, you will be required to pay an enrolment fee for the additional courses. However, this fee can be reimbursed via HSE’s Training Support Scheme. Further details can be found here.
