Dear Doctor,
 |
As anticipated, the Government announced that as a country we will move to Level 5 of the framework for living with COVID 19. This will affect many aspects of your lives. RCSI supports this decision of Government as an important step to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent our health services from being overwhelmed
In terms of surgical training and RCSI education and training courses, we will continue to deliver these courses where physical presence is necessary. The delivery of education and training for our healthcare workforce is deemed an essential activity. We have already made significant changes to move many activities to being delivered on-line where feasible. Where in-person attendance is needed due to the nature of the course, then our precautions around infection control will minimise risk of transmission. Therefore I want to confirm that the team in RCSI will continue to deliver our training and education programmes where circumstances permit. Should we need to make any changes to a course or education event, our team in surgical affairs will notify you as soon as possible. If you are not in a position to attend a course then please let us know as soon as possible and we will work with you around rescheduling.
We ask that you continue to adhere to all COVID 19 transmission prevention guidelines. Please do not car pool with people outside of your immediate household if you have to travel for a course. Please ensure that you do not attend if you have any symptoms and let us know so that we can look at alternative arrangements. If you have any queries or comments please do not hesitate to contact our team in surgical affairs. Thank you for your ongoing support for each other and the College.
Yours sincerely
Kieran Ryan
Managing Director Surgical Affairs
