We have identified from our database that you were enrolled on the Professional Competence Scheme (PCS) however you are currently not re-enrolled for the PCS year 1st May 2021 – 30th April 2022. (This report was run recently and you may have already re-enrolled, please ignore if you have re-enrolled)
Please note if you are on the Medical Council Register - Supervised, General, or Specialist Register you are required to be enrolled in a Professional Competence Scheme and it is really important that you re-enrol before 5th January 2022.
The Medical Council Registration and Continuing Practice Committee have requested that the Postgraduate Training Bodies share more information with the Medical Council on an individual named basis regarding doctors who are enrolled in its professional scheme. The aim of this exercise is that the Medical Council will then be able to reconcile lists with the current Register and identify doctors who are not enrolled on the Professional Competence Scheme and thus require follow-up.
If you do not re-enrol on or before 5th January 2022, your name will not be on the list we (RCSI) send to the Medical Council and therefore you will then be contacted by the Medical Council directly about your enrolment.
If you are no longer on the Supervised, General, or Specialist division of the (Irish) Medical Council’s Register and do not need to be enrolled in PCS, please confirm by email pcs@rcsi.ie that you wish to withdraw from the PCS. This will allow us to withdraw your enrolment and ensure that you do not receive unnecessary communication in relation to the PCS going forward.
