MS Word – Document Management for Doctors

This course has been developed as a follow-on course to MS Word – An Introduction, with the objective of moving participants on to the next level of use of the application through a better understanding of overall document management.
This training session aims to empower the RCSI community to challenge poor behaviors which have become normalised and bring change through the reinforcement of messages defining the boundaries of unacceptable behavior.
This course will aid you in developing your curriculum vitae so that your previous experience and attributes will stand out. The course also explores the optimum ways you can win over the interview panel at that all-important interview. Part A concentrates on the Curriculum Development, Part B concentrates on interview skills.

This is a full porcine course with one pig per four participants and a faculty-to-participant ratio of 1:4. This course will initially explore the management of incisional hernia and laparoscopic placement of an extraperitoneal mesh. Upper abdominal work will include an hiatal hernia repair and a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which will then be converted to open; followed by small bowel closure techniques.
This is a hands-on course, where virtual reality endoscopic simulators and bench task trainers will be used to practice gastroscopy and colonoscopy, on advanced modules with different pathologies. The workshop will be run in two parallel sessions to maximise simulator use.

This training programme will enable participants to use the NQAIS Clinical system to extract data on each patient discharged from an acute hospital for the past five years.
This course for anyone who would like to explore the opportunities and challenges of using social media in healthcare, including as a mass communication tool during infectious disease epidemics.
This course will introduce the concept of burnout in the medical profession and mechanisms to avoid burnout. The course will also address using a strengths-based approach to workplace flourishing.
During the course, you will learn procedures using low and high-fidelity models in our wet lab facility with the constructive feedback of experienced consultants in General and colorectal surgery.

This course will give the attendee the opportunity to have a two-way discussion on the up-to-date laparoscopic operative management in topics such as laparoscopic hepatobiliary, gastric and small bowel surgery under the guidance of experienced laparoscopic consultant surgeons.
If a course is FULL – it is recommended to apply for the waiting list. Often doctors withdraw from courses closer to the date.
