NO CPD Credits uploaded - Not on Target 1st May 2018 - 30th April 2019

Dear Dr

IMC NO

We wish to advise you that on reviewing your Professional Competence Scheme (PCS) portfolio, we note that you have NO CPD credits recorded and/or a clinical audit for the current PCS term 2018 – 2019

As we now approach the end of the Professional Competence Scheme year 2018 – 2019, we recommend that you update your ePortfolio to ensure that your CPD activity is uploaded for the current year.  If you have not reached the required target at this point in time, we would recommend that you plan activities over the coming three months.  For a list of CPD activities approved for External CPD credits by RCSI, please go to the RCSI Calendar of Events.  For information on the courses available on the Continuous Professional Development Support Scheme, please click here

Information recorded in your ePortfolio is used to generate your Annual Statement of Participation at the end of the year.  The Statement of Participation will be generated in May 2019 and this will reflect what you have recorded on your ePortfolio.  This Statement of Participation is the document that you will need to submit to the Medical Council if selected for their Audit.

You should now login to your PCS profile https://pcs.rcsi.ie/ and review your portfolio.

The annual PCS requirements are: 50 CPD credits across the following categories:

External:

20 credits minimum per annum (mandatory)

Internal:

20 credits minimum per annum (mandatory)

Personal Learning:

5 credits minimum per annum (mandatory)

Research and Teaching:

2 credits desirable (but can get recognition for up to 5

And

   One clinical / practice audit

We would like to offer assistance to practitioners who, for whatever reason, find it difficult to comply with the Medical Council requirements.  Please email us on pcs@rcsi.ie if you have any queries or need assistance in relation to your PCS.

Yours sincerely

Professor Sean Tierney BSc MCh FRCSI
