The Medical Council recognise that periods of certified leave (maternity leave / sick leave) longer than three months may result in a doctor not being able to meet their obligations in relation to professional competence over that period.
The Medical Council have announced that the Maintenance of Professional Competence (MPC) Framework will be revised starting 1st May 2025, for the Professional Competence Scheme (PCS) year 1st May 2025 – 30th April 2026.
RCSI will commence this Verification Process in June/July 2025 where we will randomly select doctors to participate in this process for the year 1st May 2024 – 30th April 2025.
RCSI’s highly in-demand ENT Skills for General Surgeons course is ideal for general surgeons presented with ENT cases in their emergency rooms or in outpatient clinics. There will be an emphasis in this course to the safe management of the airway orally or by an emergency cricothyroidotomy. In this practical course we will use a combination of synthetic and animal tissue (porcine/ovine).
