ICBSE is recruiting for a new Chair of the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Committee

A new Chair is sought for the Internal Quality Assurance Committee for the Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations to succeed the current Chair, who stood down on 31 August 2020.

 

The Internal Quality Assurance Committee monitors and reviews all components of the MRCS and DO-HNS examinations to ensure that the highest possible standards are achieved, and makes recommendations to improve any deficiencies. 

 

Applicants are required to be a Member or Fellow of a Royal Medical College, have significant experience of the examination process at this level, and to be able to demonstrate a wide understanding of postgraduate medical education and principles of quality assurance. Appointment to the post will be by interview.

 

The closing date for applications is 14 March 2021. Interviews will take place via video conference on the afternoon of Wednesday 7 April 2021. The next subsequent IQA meeting is taking place on 16 April 2021, which will be used as part of the handover process and the successful applicant will be expected to Chair the July 2021 meeting.
