The increase in Trainees applying to Emergency Medicine Specialist Training has led to a requirement to increase the number of accredited training posts available in hospitals throughout Ireland. Recent inspections have approved posts in a number of hospitals including Letterkenny. 

The inspection process will continue in 2026 with a view to increasing the number of training places available for the 2027 intake process.
