POSTGRADUATE ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES – September 2026 intake

RCSI are committed to supporting the career of medical and surgical professionals at every stage of your career. We are pleased to announce that we now have a suite of postgraduate academic programmes in surgery and medicine to meet the needs of all healthcare professionals.

We are committed to delivering excellence in healthcare education by providing a range of Masters and Diploma Programmes dedicated to supporting the career development of Doctors in a wide range of specialties.

 

Online PG Diploma/MSc. in Human Factors in Patient Safety – Part time (1/2 years)

Suitable to:

The programme is suitable for emergency medicine doctors, surgeons, physicians, anaesthesiologists, obstetricians, pharmacists, nurses and midwives working in the hospital setting, as well as safety and quality managers.

Please note prospective applicants looking to apply for one of our academic programmes can apply for funding through the HSE TSS schemes link (up to €1,750 for a 1-year programme or €3,500 for two-year part time programmes).

RCSI CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

RCSI has developed a Continuous professional development programme that cover a broad range of courses for Non-consultant hospital doctors (NCHDs) all of which are approved for HSE TSS funding. 

Our programme in 2026-27 will offer over 120+ courses and will be available on our website in late July. Candidates can book a place on one of the current courses of find additional information from our website.

 

SELF PACED ONLINE COURSES:

Our self-paced online courses have been adapted for you to conveniently complete in your own time. With courses ranging from Clinical Trials, Medical Emergencies and much more. Click here to view our self paced courses. 

 

EMNow TRAINING PORTAL

EMNow is a free access app – built by the RCSI specifically for emergency medicine NCHD’s – that supports training and serves as an information point for all elements of Emergency Medicine in Ireland.
