Hope you are keeping well.
We’re delighted to advise that RCSI’s innovative part-time postgraduate programme in Human Factors in Patient Safety is now available to complete in one year as a Postgraduate Diploma or over two years as a Postgraduate Master’s Degree. The progamme brochure can be viewed here and is packed with an in-depth overview of the skills and competencies you'll gain from the course.
This inter-professional part-time programme provides a flexible blend of online and face-to-face learnings to help busy healthcare professionals who are actively involved in clinical practice. Our accredited team of healthcare faculty will help you elevate your personal effectiveness through enhanced teamwork, leadership, and communications skills.
This patient-centred postgraduate diploma has been designed for multi-disciplinary professionals who are committed to improving their competencies and behaviours to improve patient safety and quality in healthcare. The programme is positioned at level 9 on the NFQ and is a fully inter-professional programme developed to meet the needs of Surgeons, Anesthesiologiest, EM doctors, Obstetricians, Nurses, Midwives, Nurse Educationalists and other health care professionals as well as safety and quality managers.
“The course offers so much that was new yet immediately utilisable for me despite many years of professional involvement in risk management, medical education, and simulation training. The quality of international faculty is astonishing. Some of them would command keynote slots on almost any scientific programme, but we got to spend hours with them sharing experiences of real clinical dilemmas and potential research ideas”. DR NIAMH HAYES
The programme has gained great attraction from health care professionals and enrolment is still open for practitioners looking to build on their patient-centred skills. Applications are reviewed weekly and places allocated on a first come first served bases for suitable applicants so it's advisable to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Despite COVID-19 the programme will commence as scheduled in September 2020. If COVID-19 restrictions apply in the autumn that impact onsite delivery then the programme is ready to commence with online delivery.
You can find out more about the programme by clicking here to register your interest or request a call to speak with one of the senior lecturers on the programme.
