The School of Postgraduate Studies is delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications for the next intake of the MD and PhD by Prior Publication programmes. These programmes are open to research active RCSI staff (at any of our campuses), RCSI Honorary Appointments, RCSI Trainees, Members or Fellows and RCSI Alumni. Applications will be accepted until Friday 5 January to begin in February 2024.

These programmes offer the opportunity to medical graduates with a record of publications in medicine, surgery or clinical science to complete an MD by prior published works. Those with a record of publications in biomedical, clinical and health services research can complete a PhD by prior published works. 

This route to an MD or PhD allows scholars who have sufficient research experience at doctoral level, as demonstrated through already published material, to gain academic recognition for their work over a minimum registration period of one year.
