The ICBSE is looking to recruit question writers for the MRCS Part A exam. This is an exciting and important role that will help to ensure the exam continues to be valid and reliable.
We provide all writers with guidance about question construction, intended level of difficulty, house style and syllabus areas that are a priority.
Outline of duties
- Write new questions and submit them to questionwriting@icbse.org.uk in advance of question review days (held three times per year)
- Attend these review days to improve questions that have been submitted by other writers, while also writing more questions in groups
CPD points certificates are awarded to anyone who either writes questions or attends the review days.
Who can take part?
You must have passed the MRCS in order to be a question writer for the MRCS Part A. We are looking to recruit writers from a range of different backgrounds, specialties and clinical settings, including trainees and SAS doctors.
If you would like to join the group, please send proof that you have passed the MRCS to questionwriting@icbse.org.uk.
